Picture and sound screen in one - new big-screen system for real 3D acoustics 14.07.2008
(djd) Millions of fans want tickets, but only a small proportion will be lucky enough to be able to watch one of the World Cup matches – particularly one involving the German team. Only one million of the three million tickets available are actually sold. The remainder is going to sponsors, official guests of the state, the participating clubs and the FIFA. The plan is to erect big screens for the fans in many German cities. So-called public viewing will therefore be an important issue this year as well.
Take the example of the guitar: Just in time for the big event there is now a new development which turns television into teleaudio. Because the mobile big screen and sound system from purMedia (www.pursonic.com) brings you football and other live events in an atmosphere never experienced before. The secret of an outstanding music and speech quality is the 2 x 1.5 m Soundboard acting as that big-screen projection area at the same time. It was developed in collaboration with Bayer Science and is all of 7 mm thick. The exact formulation of the polyurethane material used is, of course, a secret.
Based on the model of the acoustic guitar, purMedia also causes the thin external walls to resonate instead of generating a powerful air pressure wave, as is the case with a trumpet, for example. Stars within your own four walls: The system can still achieve an impressive performance. It provides up to 180 RMS watts and produces hardly any feedback – an enormous advantage for lectures and conferences as well. There is an integrated Revox subwoofer for full bass tones. Additional loudspeakers are not required. The NEC projection technology is integrated into purMedia produces a very high sharpness of image, colour brilliance, deep black and non-flickering image. The dynamic and powerful play of light asserts itself over the ambient brightness. The distinguishing features of the digital projector components are cinema quality with full DVD resolution and maximum contrast. The module is available up to a maximum diagonal measurement of 96 inches (2.43 m).
By the way, it is possible to literally put the new technology into your own four walls: puren Soundboards are invisibly installed in your floor, wall or ceiling by trained specialized companies (partners). And thus provide an all-encompassing sound experience – because they spread the sound over a much wider angle than conventional loudspeakers.
